There is no place like the Rosewood Schloss Fuschl. It is hands down the greatest hotel I have ever stayed at. From start to finish - you are taken care of every step of the way. The Spa - is the beautiful location I have ever seen. From the indoor and out door pool, services and the variety offerings they have daily is second to none. All of their restaurants are top tier. The sun deck they have down by the lake, you will never want to leave. You are at such peace being able to relax with such a view. We had arrived later in the evening on Sunday after the Austrian Grand Prix and the hotel was kind enough to take our dinner order ahead of time so we could dine with them when we arrived. Daniel - you have created one of the best hospitality environments. I have never felt so welcomed. Thank you to you and your entire team - they treated us like royalty! We cannot wait to visit you all again.
We had a very nice stay here recently. Firstly, the location is stunning. On the shore of Fuschlsee, the views are amazing and able to be enjoyed from every room and most of the common areas as well. Food at the hotel’s restaurants is high quality and the service here was fantastic. We had some issues with service in our room, we had requested a fan for our room and let the front desk know we would be out for about 6 hours so it could be delivered. When we returned, the fan was not there. On top of that, we had been left without toilet paper when the room was cleaned during the day. We called and both items were brought to us fairly quickly, but we then learned most of the electrical outlets in our room didn’t work. They brought us an extension cord to run the fan and promised Engineering would return the following day to check out the electrical issue. When we returned after being out all day, the issue still wasn’t fixed. After another call, the electricity started working again, including several features we didn’t know our room had, like a heated floor in the bathroom. Also, our bathroom lights would turn on randomly throughout the night, which was never fixed. The hotel did comp a meal and some drinks we had at the bar to apologize for these issues, and we felt that was fair, but for a hotel of this caliber, I expect more prompt attention to issues.
Our room was 31 square meters — compact but beautifully designed. Check-in was fast, but unfortunately, no one told us our room number, which led to confusion later. We had requested a hypoallergenic room in advance, but this was not honored when additional pillows were brought. Upon arrival, we requested extra pillows and a fan — it took over 30 minutes for them to arrive. While the hotel had been sold out the night before, which may explain some of the delays, it often felt understaffed and disorganized. Overall, service was inconsistent and did not meet the high standards we’ve experienced at other Rosewood properties. Communication was another issue. We weren’t informed about the amenities, surrounding area, resort credit, or complimentary breakfast — all of which we only learned about later. The concierge was difficult to reach, often requiring multiple calls. Room requests routinely took 15+ minutes to fulfill (an hour for toothpaste, for example). Attention to detail throughout the property was lacking. We noticed spiderwebs and weeds on the porch, full trash bins, and no water or towels in the spa. In the spa showers, body lotion was placed in a conditioner container, and shampoo was found at the sinks instead of hand soap. In our room, the jar labeled body wash was placed where hand soap should have been. The breakfast experience was also confusing. We waited 15 minutes for a bill that never came, only to be told we didn’t need one — something that could have been explained up front. Staff seemed disconnected, with multiple people promising to “check on things” that were never followed up. On the positive side, the lake views and natural setting are absolutely breathtaking. The sauna was fantastic, and the gym was clean, modern, and not overly crowded. That said, this stay paled in comparison to the flawless experience we had the night before at Rosewood Munich. While the property itself is beautiful, the lack of coordination and attention to detail made it feel like a completely different brand. The potential is certainly there, but the execution needs serious refinement.
