Steigenberger Hotel Köln

Simply lovely! Just a great hotel in a great location. I am usually very picky, but this one was flawless to me. Spacious clean room with a modern design and everything looks new. Huge car garage right next to the hotel. Good sound isolation in the rooms and silent airco. The room itself is not expensive. And the area is very hip, we found many nice bars and restaurants around. 10/10

The experience was horrible, one of the worst holidays I had. As soon as we arrived came the door porter asking for the keys of the car and telling us that we need to give him the keys until we do the check-in even though the car was parked by the side. To get our keys back we needed to look for this guy since he diappeared and all staff of the hotel looking for him.The room was quite dirty and even in 3 days they never changed the bed sheets and also left the bins unemptied and also some of the dirty towels were not even changed. My baby cot was dirty and never cleaned and left its bed sheets even on the floor without being changed. I checked out one day before and for our surprise they said we needed to pay for the breakfast which we never took and car park which we never used. After they said it was a mistake. For the cleanliness I went 3 times to complain at the reception and they did nothing and when I asked for earlier check out they sent 3 people to clean which was too late for me since the decision was taken. Horrible experience.

Probably my final stay here. Internet is too weak for video calls. Shampoo wasn’t replaced even after I told the reception it had been empty the entire time. The gym is spacious but clearly not a priority. No towels, no water. You can definitely get something better in cologne for that price point.
