Hotel is situated a little way out of town right by the stadium. Rooms are a little small but well equipped. Beds are comfortable and loads of light from big windows. Only complaint was no real cupboard so you feel like you are living out your suitcase. Bathroom is great and the shower probably best I’ve had in a hotel room. There is a sports bar / restaurant downstairs and if you are lucky you might bump into a few players on their way to training.
Unless you're staying there for the football. You're way outta town. Rooms were cool, although the large murals of the legendary football players heads, initially was brilliant... But weird at night. It felt like they were staring at you.
H4 Mönchengladbach is one of our favorite hotels in this area and our go to hotel choice when we come to this area. Centrally located between the Netherlands and the Ruhr cities like Düsseldorf and Koln. But this last stay was really bad. We stayed in room 307 and there seems to be some issues with the AC on this wing of the 3rd floor. They never lower the shades and combine it with a defective AC and the room became a literal hell hole. In the evening I called the receptionist and they were sorting it out. It didn’t work and we resorted to opening the window. Unfortunately this means lifting the shades and we woke up around 6. Only slept for a few hours. After lowering the shades the room became sweltering hot again. After BF I complained at the reception, and receptionist will activate the AC. Instead in the room the shades were lifted…instead of turning AC on. From below I saw it will not work, because in the wing where I stayed every room had opened the small window. H4 please get it sorted and stop putting guests in such a room. That’s why 1 star. This is horrendous service and total disrespect to your star. I know aC is working because the hall way on 3rd floor and reception was perfectly cool. Ps a warning in a previous stay our parents stayed in the executive room on 1st floor and the AC there was also defective.
