Second stay in one month. Broken items in room that hotel promises to fix and doesn't (2 broken bedside lamps, shower head that sprayed water all over bathroom, sink with water that dribbled out). Hotel would only provide two bath towels and one hand towel total per day and would not provide additional towels upon request. We used damp towels each day and shared a hand/face towel. Hotel has policy that they will only provide one coffee cup and one coffee pod per room, even when paying for double occupancy. We shared a cup of coffee each morning. When speaking to the front desk, we were only told, "This is our policy." I am in Bogota 1-2 times per month and wanted this to be my home away from home, but I am moving on!

The rooms were very nice, except the mould in the bathroom. The area around the hotel is excellent. Have never in my life experienced such unfriendly, incompetent and non-understandable reception staff. They put some kind of resort fee on top of the reserved hotel price, never seen that in my life except in Las Vegas. Put your real prices on the reservation sites and everything would be ok. Normally 0 stars, but 1 star for the area and 1 star for the room cleaners.

Wow, what an incredibly horrible stay at 84DC. My parents and I decided to spend our Christmas in their college town of Bogota and decided on this hotel from the overall positive reviews, location, and promising features. This couldn't have been further from the truth. We spent nearly ~$900 for an 8 day stay that was truly nothing short of a nightmare. The moment we arrived, we were hit with an absurd "foreigner" fee for myself as I am not yet a national. (Though later I read a review of another foreigner that refused this fee and they took it off) Upon entering our room, the problems compounded – minimal toilet paper, paper-thin and rough quality. While we were frustrated with the quality- it was more embarrassing to repeatedly request for more throughout our stay. At one moment we asked if we could just have two rolls instead of having to call every other day or so. The receptionist explained that only housekeeping had control of that- unprofessional. The beds were excruciatingly uncomfortable, leading to back and hip pain. It's really just appalling how bad this hotel was for the price. We were literally sleeping on bare springs. The shower spewed brown lime when we first used the shower- so disgusting. The bathroom lock did not work. If you locked yourself inside the restroom it was extremely difficult to open the door again without the help of someone from the outside. The lock for the actual hotel room was non-existent. Pictures added for reference. The hotel's website also claims they have Wi-Fi coverage and so-called city views- both could not be further from the truth. There was no Wi-Fi on my side of the room and it repeatedly became disconnected. Non-existent air conditioning either, but were given a fan at the request of one. The locked "terrace" further disappointed as there was a beautiful balcony but one we could never access... Housekeeping's inconsistency was appalling – overflowing trash, missing towels, and the shocking instance of our safe being tampered with, adding unnecessary stress. We know our safe was tampered with because we left the room while the housekeeper was still cleaning up. We came back and tried opening it only to see it had already been blocked from numerous tries. The room's structural issues, from shaky stairs to flimsy and stained furniture, posed safety hazards and so much frustration. The breakfast started with promise but quickly deteriorated into decayed fruit and less fruit every single day. There was grapes the first day and the next days after they were gone. There was bananas the first three days and after they were gone. The selection became smaller and smaller every single time. It was especially difficult for me since I am allergic to berries- and if berries touched any other fruit it meant I couldn't eat it either. Just an overall steady decline in food quality. The same occurred with the eggs they made us. At first we added cheese and ham but as the days passed the ham started to smell sour and the cheese started to taste slimy. The contrast between the initially pleasant staff and subsequent uncooperative personnel, doubling as housekeepers, highlighted the hotel's incompetence in basic hospitality. Regrettably, this stay overshadowed what should have been an enjoyable trip to Bogota. IF YOU ARE READING THIS REVIEW DO NOT BOOK HERE. Look elsewhere for accommodation; an Airbnb or a different hotel would undoubtedly offer a better experience than this disappointing and depressing stay at Hotel 84DC.
