AC Hotel by Marriott Guatemala City

The room was ALOT smaller than what it seemed online. Also the wallpaper was peeling, and there could have been cleaner hallways. Other than this the location is great. It does feel a bit overpriced as the breakfast was $40 for two, so if you don’t have a big appetite, save your money and go somewhere else for breakfast. The views are great and the area is very family friendly. It’s just if I’m going to Guatemala I don’t want to spend what I’d spend in America.

Checked in AC Hotel on Monday. Arrived at about 2pm. They said the room wasn’t ready but to come at 3pm or before and it will be ready. We showed up at 4pm to get our room key. The room wasn’t ready yet. We had an over tired 1 year old who was needing a nap. Pay in mind there was a people next to us who were checking in and they were getting their room keys. We did not get our room key until 4:30pm. We got into our room and rested and then proceeded to take a shower. There was hair all over the bathroom floor and the shower floor. I will never use this hotel again. The manager Mauricio was not very accommodating or helpful. Don’t stay here if you don’t need to. The service is awful…

The only positive is that the location is great. The service was horrible. Rude and unwelcoming staff. The staff here doesn’t even greet you, they act like it is a burden to help you. And the hotel is so confusing especially the parking garage. The key cards to rooms, garage, and elevator barely work. The restroom in the room smells like mildew and it was dirty. There are so many other great hotels around the area, DON’T STAY HERE! Worse Marriott experience I have ever had.
