Actons Hotel

A single night in Kinsale, at the end of a long trip around Ireland, was made so amazing, by staying at Actons. From finding a parking spot on a Saturday afternoon (not an easy task), to the room, and then the restaurant, we were so happy we selected this property. An amazing room, with a large bathroom, this was probably the most comfortable bed of our trip. Very good A/C, and plenty of space. The food was fine, and the space was great. Breakfast was served in a timely manner, and we were happy with it. I would highly suggest staying here, if you have the opportunity.

We really loved our stay at Actons, as part of an organised tour. The rooms were absolutely beautiful, well equipped, very comfortable, and sparkling clean. Breakfast was delicious with a good range of options - we tried the Irish cold meats and cheeses platter, the porrridge and the French toast. Staff were great, very friendly and welcoming. Great location for exploring pretty Kinsale.

A Beautiful Wedding Setting with Room for Refinement Actons Hotel in Kinsale provided a truly beautiful backdrop for the recent wedding we attended. The area designated for the ceremony was absolutely stunning, creating a memorable and picturesque start to the day. The drinks reception was also a highlight, benefiting from a lovely private area that seamlessly blended an indoor space with easy access to an outdoor section – perfect for guests to mingle and enjoy the Kinsale air. The main hall for the reception was visually appealing, and we were consistently impressed by the professionalism and helpfulness of the staff throughout the event. They were truly excellent in their demeanour and efforts. A particular standout was the service at the top table, which was exceptionally well-catered for. However, it was a slight pity that the same meticulous level of service didn't quite extend to all the guest tables. There were a couple of minor points that, if ironed out, would easily elevate Actons to a 5-star experience. The main room unfortunately lacked air-conditioning, making it uncomfortably warm for a significant portion of the event. Separately, the bridal party were asked to move rooms during the proceedings, which felt unnecessary given the otherwise smooth flow of the day. Additionally, when the DJ started, the electricity breaker tripped twice. I highlight these "little things" not as major complaints, but because they were all handled well by the staff, who swiftly addressed each issue. If these finer details were consistently smooth and flawless, Actons Hotel would undoubtedly be competing for a five-star review. Despite these minor hiccups, it was a wonderful wedding in a beautiful setting, and the dedicated staff certainly deserve commendation.
