Airways Hotel

An absolutely wonderful hotel in Port Moresby. Outside the main town but so peaceful and a lovely location with beautiful views over the airport and hills. The hotel offers an airport pick up too. The staff are so lovely and always helpful. The rooms are a little old but still good quality. Really good food, multiple options and the lounge is lovely. The gym and pool is nice too. Overall a really fantastic stay, I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in POM.

We stayed in the Bacchus wing access to lounge for nibbles and drinks. More food nibble selection would be great. Our room was lovely and clean but it needs maintenance. Water in the shower runs straight out into the bathroom floor, no bathroom ventilation so the floors get slippery, said we have slippers but there was none, balcony door couldn’t lock, had no hand towels on the second day. Food at Vue restaurant is bland and average. I expected better quality. The views are spectacular. That a side the staff are very good from the time you enter.

Great location, fabulous views. Restaurant serves the best wraps and pizzas on the island. The rooms in the main building above the reception are great. If they put you in outside wings the rooms are horrid. Pretty old so no proper planning of charging/ lighting. You will struggle to charge phone next to the bed as no charging points. GREAT gym, very nice wet and dry sauna/steam. Those are some of the plus points. Unlimited cocktail hour 5-7pm is something to look forward to. Great finger foods and the panoramic view of the mountains from the lounge is absolutely breathtaking.
