Very nice hotel. It has two swimming pools (one for kids) and private beach but the sea was not so clear. A little bit expensive but it has a lot of facilities (gym, spa, playground, inside store etc). The food was pretty good and the staff was very friendly. The only disadvantage is that the music at night can be heard up to the rooms.
The rooms were spacious, the bathrooms clean and comfortable, and the sea view from our balcony was a daily highlight. One of the positive features was the breakfast—plentiful, diverse, and Greek and the kitchen team deserves full credit for their hard work. A special mention goes to the older gentleman making coffees each morning—always high energy, kind, welcoming, and the perfect start to each day. While the overall experience was very good, there are a couple of areas where the hotel could improve. The reception team missed an opportunity to go the extra mile; when we asked about visiting Spetses and Ydra, we were simply directed to a board. Questions about better beaches weren’t necessarily offered. A more personal and helpful response would have added value and made our experience more memorable. The beach was another letdown. While not the hotel’s fault that it’s one of the least attractive (murky) in the area, its lack of upkeep and atmosphere made it feel completely neglected and an after thought. A few improvements—occasional service, refreshed umbrellas, some light music—could go a long way in making it feel inviting and connected to the hotel’s otherwise standard. The pictures of the beach are not reflective of what’s there. That said, this is a hotel for families with kids. It’s a good hotel if you’re looking for a clean, family-friendly base with a strong pool scene. If you’re an ocean lover, though, you’ll want to explore nearby beaches for the full experience. We wanted to experience both base to explore and the beach but were primarily used as a base. As mentioned the beach is foggy and uninviting.
We stayed at AKS Hotel for 10 days as a family of four with two small children. While the hotel has some positive sides, our experience was unfortunately overshadowed by a major issue: the air conditioning in our room didn’t work and was never properly fixed. ⸻ ❌ The Bad: • Our room temperature stayed around 29–30°C the entire stay, even during the night. When outside temperatures rose to 35°C mid-stay, the room became unbearable — especially for our kids, who woke up every 30 minutes due to the heat. There was simply no way to sleep well. • We reported the issue on and were told that the entire hotel was experiencing AC problems and that we should wait one day. • On 2 report - a technician came but only adjusted the settings and said it would cool down. It didn’t. • Later, hotel staff lied, claiming the AC display was defective and that it only looked like the room was hot — but the heat was very real and extremely uncomfortable. • They eventually offered a room change, but it was clearly just an excuse, not a true solution. It was offered late in the evening (around 21:00) and the room was on the 5th floor, making it difficult to move with two small kids. At the same time, they also said a repair team would finally fix the AC, so we stayed, believing the issue would finally be resolved. • The repair team did come, but whatever they did made no difference. When we returned from our evening walk, the room was still 30°C. • Our final nights were miserable – no proper sleep, and total discomfort for the whole family. • We chose not to argue further, just to avoid ending our vacation on an even more stressful note.
