Akti Beach Village Resort

Had a fabulous time at this great resort. Each to their own but we are puzzled by the negative comments so here are ours. We picked this place because it is in a quieter location. Grounds and nearby public areas are clean and well kept. We loved the little bay and were able to swim and snorkel most days but others the sea was more choppy. Nice walk further up the coast either way and we found another inlet with sandy beach. The pools are great, clean and well maintained with lifeguard at the larger pool. The taster session of scuba diving was also ace and allowed us to decide on booking a full trip. We paid for the all inclusive option, others didn't, and this meant all meals were included plus most drinks (think pretty standard to pay extra for premium ones). All the staff were friendly and helpful. We also noticed how well the various managers mucked in.

Thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Food and drink was great. Studio room we had was very spacious and clean. Pools were good and regularly saw the maintenance team taking water samples and cleaning them. The resort is a little way out from the main centre so always had to use either the shuttle bus or a taxi (too hot to walk!) Local cats around the resort are super friendly and appreciate a few treats and biscuits. I would definitely visit again.

The overall stay was not satisfactory for me and uncomfortable at times. Cleanliness was approximately in the room and in common areas as well sometimes also due to other guests rudeness. We had to ask for almost a week to clean our room in the morning otherwise they would come late in the afternoon. The room was spacious but outdated. Dirt stains on linen and curtains, chipped floors. Old bathroom with shower curtain again stained. A smell of dust and mold in the kitchenette and the furniture that was really unpleasant. The kitchenette was well equipped though. Entertainment was good as well as the dinner buffet. Lunch buffet was not good and also served in the heat at the swimming pool which was unbearable. Spa treatments are not worth it, they use cheap products which is unacceptable for a 90 euros massage. Also I want to underline there is no beach, there is a small cove where you can dive but it is with stones. The hotel is on a cliff on the sea hence not suitable for children. Overall a 4 star hotel should be more curated and I would suggest more attention for details.
