There was a day when they turned off the water due to a breakage and because of the water the air conditioning didn't work either, that lasted until late at night after dinner, the food didn't have much variety, especially in the main dishes, very little, the worst of all was at lunch it was poorer than dinner, there were no drink offers during meals, only 3 types of juices, there was no carbonated soda or red wine or anything and the pastries were very poor, they ran out very quickly, the desserts weren't put any more and during breakfast which was the most complete there was everything except milk and sugar. The rest of the hotel facilities in the gastronomic part, both in the bars and on the beach, very little on offer, especially beer, during the day beer was only offered from 10 am to 6 pm in the hotel pool, from 6 pm onwards there was only in the lobby bar or on the beach there was no beer or food, with the characteristic that the hotel has that to get to the beach you have to walk a considerable distance across avenues and streets of the city, so when you were staying at the beach you couldn't eat food or beer, in the rooms there was no toiletries (soap, shampoo, shower gel, toilet paper or water to drink) and they didn't change the sheets or towels when they should have done it daily. Of the 4 pools that it has, only 1 was working. The pool bar service was delayed due to a lack of beer that arrived almost at noon. The pool bartender, with a bad temper, is not suitable for working with the public. There was no dryer in the room and the mirror was stained and the air conditioning was very weak. When you finished at the beach, you had nowhere to get all that sand off. In general, the hotel looks in good condition. Most of the staff was very attentive, especially in the restaurant, the lobby bar, and the specialty bar. Every night they offered good and varied shows.

I knew going into this vacation that Cuba had a food crisis and that the hotel was under new management. However, the rooms were clean, but old and musty and hallways/ stairwells were dirty. The food at the snack bar and the buffet was barely edible. The drinks were good though, but the bartending staff spoke minimal English so at times it was difficult to communicate your requests. Also, they served the Spanish speakers and the Russians first, even if you were ahead of them in the queue! And what was with the espresso machine constantly being broken? The pool bar and the beach were lovely, which was the only saving grace of this place. There were lots of loungers at the pools but not a lot at the beach. Go early to the beach if that's your jam. The beach was about a 5 minute walk from the hotel grounds, which was not a big deal for us, but it was annoying. But once you got there, it was so wonderful. And the staff at the beach bar were lovely. One day the housekeeping staff only gave us one blue beach towel; I didn't think anything of it. But on checkout, we were told that we would have to pay for the missing towel!! Seriously! It was $30 USD. I was furious. I paid it anyway because we had our shuttle to the airport to catch and all they did was shrug their shoulders and say "you need to pay before you leave". We were only given one towel and they charged me for a towel that I never received. What a scam. I will not be returning to Cuba, let alone this hotel. I do not recommend staying here. Not only did it feel like a scam, most of the staff were miserable and wore their emotions for all to see. But, you get what you pay for. It was a cheap, hot holiday with beautiful weather. So it wasn't all bad.

The hotel should be renewed! It was sold as a 4 stars hotel when it actually is a 0 star one. The room was horrible. There was a leak in my bathtub which was gross as well as the the rest of the bathroom, and how to forget that the toilet smelled worse than a public restroom. The room's AC wasn't functioning at all. The food was horrible. It had no taste at all , and it was gross and disgusting. The pool needs to be renewed as well since there were holes on the sidewalk around it as well as very noticeable cracks all over it! The staff was not very helpful. Horrible experience. I was supposed to stay for 3 days and 2 nights! I decided to leave after the 1st day hoping that the hotel appearance wasn't the only bad thing , but turned out everything was awful at this place . It should not be called Royal Palm because there is nothing " Royal" about this damn place. Don't waste your money. If you wanna have a nice experience visit Arenas Blancas Hotel which is amazing!
