Strategically located nearby food streets, lots of local food nearby. Supermarkets and cosmetic stores are just around the corner. Aloft has a young energetic and modern chic vibe, one thing the lighting feels a bit dim. There were not many guests around. Rooms were clean and comfortable. One thing that amazed me was the extraordinary customer service provided by the front desk staff. It was raining when i checked in. And so, i left my wet umbrella opened at the front lobby. The next morning, it was nicely folded and returned to me. On top of that, they greeted me Every time i passed by with a smile. Not much food choices for the breakfast buffet but i guess one could easily get more food at the food streets nearby.
Overall a good stay for 2 nights. Rooms are decent and modern though views are average. Service was generally very good albeit breakfast spread was average. Good value overall and good location in between 2 MRTs.
Managed to stay one night in Aloft and it was a rather pleasant experience. I arrived in Taipei at 7am, went for breakfast and arrived the hotel and 10am and managed to check in. The hotel staff were pleasant and friendly, and got me also an upgrade for the room. The entire stay in the hotel I didn't get to see a lot of other guests, which I kinda liked it because it felt quite exclusive. Loved the size of the room, it was very big and well equipped. I think its super rare that you can spot a bathtub in the room! Very clean and sleek design, wifi was good and fast throughout. Everywhere was just spick and span. Had a chance to walk around to check out the facilities. The gym was not very big but pretty self sufficient, the bar at the top floor was not opened for business that early but the staff were cleaning and preparing the place for business. There is a pool at the rooftop but unfortunately it was closed to public when I wanted to visit it. I think this is a rather nice place to stay, considering the rate is reasonable and also i like it that it is super near the exit of the metro station on the yellow line and makes it very easy to get around. It takes about 2 minutes to walk from the hotel to the metro station and that's how near it is. Didn't get a chance to try the breakfast, because there's quite a lot of nice places around that open early so I decided to eat out instead of having it at the hotel. There is a market Qing Guang just 2 blocks away which is probably also another 5 minutes walk. All in all a recommended place to consider for your trip if you are looking for a good reasonably priced hotel.
