Ankawa Royal Hotel & Spa

Being from California, and have traveled extensively, I was surprised to find such a good hotel in Erbil. The staff was very receptive and well mannered. Most of the staff spoke English. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was amazing. I stayed there for four days, then I went on a trip to another city. On the way back, I again came back to Ankawa Royal Hotel. The second stay was for 8 days, and again it was very good.

My recent stay at Ankawa Royal Hotel, along with my large family, was exceptional and stands out as a memorable experience. The service, in particular, was impeccable, with every staff member going above and beyond to cater to our diverse needs. Special thanks to Oday at the front desk for his warmth and efficiency, which made us feel right at home from the get-go. Dining at the 24-hour restaurant was a highlight, offering some of the most delightful dishes of our trip. The staff’s willingness to serve drinks and hookahs throughout the night, while keeping the music and amenities going just for us, added a personal touch that was much appreciated by all of us. Though the rooms showed a bit of age, the unparalleled service more than made up for it. The cigar lounge upstairs was another favorite spot, where the excellent service continued to impress. The genuine hospitality extended by the entire team, under the leadership of the accommodating General Manager, transformed our stay into something truly special. It wasn’t just the high level of professionalism but the personal connections we formed, leaving us feeling more like friends than guests. For a large family like ours, finding such a welcoming and attentive environment was invaluable, and we are all eager to return to Ankawa Royal Hotel.

The only good point is the location not more. Stuffs aren't professional. Don't Fluent English. Very cheap breakfast .cook on breakfast time hiding to ignore cooking egg for guests . .building is old .workers causing inconvenience for repair building with high noise in upper floor from 8 am. Concierge person was helpful. Reservation persons were rude and nonwelcoming. Pool wasn't available because uses as resturant . Don't select corner suite. It is same as deluxe roome but 50 % more on price. Its stars must be 3 not 5 .
