You could not ask for a better, more genuine accommodation in Portaria. George and Lena and the most thorough hosts. The room was amazing, clean, authentic to the history of the building, and comfortable. The breakfast each morning was impeccable, Lena even made us homemade spinach and feta pie. We learned so much about the area, the history of the house (which is one of the very first of the mansions built in portaria and “twin” to the museum). The location is central and it’s easy to pop around to the centaur path, the restaurants, and explore the town without much effort. There is private parking which is prime in these small villages. They are such a lovely and welcoming family, and made our stay so pleasant that we didn’t want to leave. They have put so much work and continue to work hard to restore their historic home and welcome travelers, I can’t wait to see what it looks like once they get the tavern open once again. Lovely old house. The place is quite authentic I love it. Even the bathroom is good enough for place old like this. I did not see the host because of my very late arrival and early departure I think everything was quite fine.

A charming mid 19th century building with many original features, run by a friendly family. The room was comfortable, but don't expect luxury. As an old building there are limitations to what they can offer. So be aware that there isn't any AC and the bathroom is small, but functional.
