We loved everything about this inn! I stayed with my family in April, and it was our first time experiencing a traditional Japanese ryokan. Thank you for the warm memories and unforgettable experience! The entire facility is spotless, thoughtfully maintained, and equipped with everything you could need. The onsen is a true gem. There are two different bathhouses: the Iwaburo, which dates back to the inn’s opening and carries a sense of history and charm, and the Hakkakudo bath, which offers a serene garden view — a truly unique and relaxing experience. The hotel is beautifully decorated with elegant ikebana arrangements. We also enjoyed a kaiseki dinner, which was not only delicious but served with such care and attention to detail — a real highlight of our stay. I had seen a few reviews mentioning impolite staff, so I was a bit unsure before arriving — but I’m happy to say we didn’t encounter anything like that at all. Every staff member we met was kind, respectful, and genuinely welcoming. The shuttle bus driver, in particular, was incredibly professional and handled everything with such care and responsibility. Arima village itself is absolutely charming — full of character, with warm, friendly locals. We thoroughly enjoyed walking around its quiet streets and seeing the cherry blossoms in full bloom. Thank you again for this beautiful stay! We would love to return someday.
Stayed here for 2 nights, I feel comfortable here. Hotel locates a bit far from center but in reasonable walking distance. Also shuttle bus is available whenever you call (except lunch time). Service is good & polite, and basically can communicate with each staff in English. If you are not JP speaker, then here is good choice for you. Hot spring is very nice with ling opening hour. Gold spring is available in hotel. I have my meals in room and the old lady serving me is very polite, passionate and friendly. Thank you very much for your service.
At first i didnt believe that the resorts' staff are rude. But after my 1night stay I experience the bad serviced as well. I booked the family lodge for 4adult. It didn't have choices to choose extra bed..so when I checked in with 1extra child , i was surprised the white young guy charged me 15.400yen. He asked me is it ok with you? ( He think I could say not ok?) Then the rude old driver send us to the lodge and not so polite to foreigner. This was my first time encounter rude service by japanese. I used to like japan because of their politeness. After we checked in the receptionist told my wife that they can't deliver the extra bed. After an hour, we went to the receptionist to ask again ," If there is no extra bed that means no charge?" The young Japanese guy said" yes. No charge. ". We thought it was fair actually. The next day the other receptionist in charge and when we were checking out the bill was printed 15.400yen. We complained but he just said sorry. I think it is not fair we pay without what we get. I felt that we got scammed. Maybe the owner have to improve a lot of those issues.
