Athens 1890 Hotel & Spa

Having read the reviews I was a little concerned about the place, but it turned out fine. You do hear the restaurant from the first floor rooms, but the room in question was nice, lots of space, nice bathroom. The private hot tub is not so private, since the balcony above has a perfect view onto it. Likewise, the next door room has a hot tub separated by a simple claustra which does very little to maintain privacy. Since there’s also a spa in the cellar (very nice private facilities) with some glass panels meaning it’s visible from the street… we wondered if this place was not some kind of sex cave. We tried the breakfast in the adjacent restaurant that you walk through to get to the hotel part. It was very good value, a huge breakfast for only 9 euros. Location was perfect, bang in the city centre.

Great location and some aspects are lovely, but shower was not great and the breakfast offering was limited and the service wasn't great. The food however was good and the receptionist was helpful. The spa is small but has a sauna, steam room and a small pool.

OUR ROOM AND THE OTHER 2 ROOMS WHICH OUR FRIENDS HAVE BEEN IN, WERE WITHOUT ANY AIR CONDITION!!! UNBELIEVBLE! OUR SPECIFIC ROOM WAS NOISY FROM 06:30 AM DUE TO NOISE HAVE DONE BY THE HOTEL WORKERS.THE HOTEL MANAGER OFFERED US 45 EUROS FOR TRANSPORTATION TO THE AIRPORT +84 EUROS ( TOTAL FOR OUR 3 ROOMS) WE CHECKED OUT ON 13/6/25. TILL NOW NO MONEY WAS DELIVERED. INSULTING AND UNSATISFING AT ALL. FOR GOD SAKE WE SPEAK ABOUT 4 STARS HOTEL WHICH PAID HUNDREDS OF EUROS PER EACH ROOM , WITH NO AIR CONDITION!!! DONT GO TO THIS HOTEL. A LOT OF OTHER ALTERNATIVES ALL OVER ATHENS.
