Atour Hotel Pudong Airport

How good was this! Must be really new. Comfortable, clean, helpful and pleasant staff, great breakfast spread, all at a great price. Even the internet speeds were outstanding. If you need to stay by the airport on a budget, great choice.

I thought it was a great hotel. Very clean, very comfortable, staff was very polite, breakfast was good, free airport shuttle service is convenient. There were a few restaurants next door, and a basic mall within walking distance. It was in the middle of nowhere: the closest metro station is quite a distance away, and a taxi to downtown Shanghai will take 1 hr and cost about 200 RMB (300 RMB during premium rate hours). If you are just looking for a place to sleep for an overnight transit at PVG, this is a great option. If you are looking to tour the city, probably not so much. The staff's English ability is very limited, so if you cannot speak Chinese, things may still work fine, but you will need to be very patient with them. Also, while the hotel accepts foreign credit cards, the restaurants and stores nearby might not.

A small, clean, modern hotel with a very comfortable design and acceptable standard. It is a good choice for those who love simplicity and cleanliness, but it cannot be classified as a luxury hotel.
