Belvedere Hotel

Belvedere is not the 'Ritz Carlton' and that is a compliment. It lacks that pretentiousness - it reflects the humble, kind, and proud culture of Kalamata. The staff is wonderful and always has a smile. I am staying here prior to the Marathon and am the only guest here. The location is impeccable - on a mountainside above a 'sleepy' beach town with a spectacular view of the Med.

Hotel with an amazing view and great potential. The rooms were well lit with big balconies to enjoy your coffee. The table in our room looked cheap though and one of the legs was broken. Our toilet flush was also broken. When asked for an iron we were given one which was full of scale and didn’t look great. With regards to its breakfast it had an adequate variety but I found that it was not refilled frequently enough. We had to wait some time for extra coffee and after a certain point there was no bread. Not to mention the fact there was no fresh milk. The staff however was great, polite and accommodative. Cleaning services on point daily but generally I feel there are better options for the same amount of money

Amazing staff go a long way and without them this hotel would get a worse review. The hotel needs some love and maintenance to brighten it up. We had dinner in an empty restaurant (very average) and it just felt...odd! The view from anywhere is simply beautiful, postcard pretty. Sadly the rooms are dark with no coffee/tea facilities or any extras, small outdated TV's with no international/sky available. WIFI was slow and the shower nozzle was not great. But the bubbly friendly staff were so helpful with local knowledge and assistance it was hard not to enjoy our stay. Go there if you can get a good deal but you might want to eat somewhere else.
