Best Western Motala Stadshotell

Locates in the City center of motala. Rooms are slowly getting old and are waiting for a little refurbishment. The breakfast is lovley and serve so with all you need for the day.

An ok hotel in need of some renovation of the rooms, but the location is as good as it gets in Motala. We stayed in the junior suite. The standard of the room was not that good. Bathroom was in poor condition and we had a smell of sewer during our stay that they didn't manage to fix. Furnishing of the room was nice but the generel condition of the room (floor, ceilings and walls) wasn't good with visible damages. The worst part was the bed. You literally fell into a pit when you laid down. WiFi service was also poor in our room, especially while in bed. The view from our room, however, was excellent. Staff was very friendly and forthcoming. Breakfast was good, what you would expect from a hotel breakfast buffet. Nothing more, nothing less. Location wise is as good as it gets in Motala with restaurants, entertainment, sightseeing etc within walking distance.

Never ever book this hotel. They cancelled my booking less than 24 hrs before arrival. We have travelled from Ireland for a wedding in Sweden. When I phoned to ask why, I was treated disgracefully. After I spoke with booking.com it now transpires that the hotel hadn't update their page. The room I booked 1 month ago, apparently hasn't been available for some time. I had received a confirmation from the hotel 1 month ago, yet they claimed they didn't get my booking until a few hours ago, when they cancelled. Disgraceful. Please, please avoid.
