The Mercure Hotel offers a really interesting contrast between old and new. The exterior and entrance hall are absolutely stunning. Everything feels modern clean timeless and still very warm and welcoming. It gives you that upscale boutique feel right from the start without feeling cold or overdesigned The lobby is beautifully styled and well lit and the atmosphere is calm and professional. You immediately feel like you’re walking into a place that takes care of details and understands how to make guests feel at ease Now the rooms do feel like they are from another century. The furniture the colors and the overall layout are quite dated but that’s understandable since the hotel is currently undergoing renovations. It’s actually kind of charming in its own way and you can tell that once the renovations are complete the rooms will match the quality of the rest of the hotel Even with the older style rooms everything else runs smoothly and feels well maintained. The cleanliness is top notch the amenities are solid and the overall vibe of the place is very relaxed but still professional The staff were friendly and helpful and the location makes it a convenient choice for both leisure and business stays. Once the renovations are done this will be a serious gem but even now it’s a very pleasant place to stay

Rooms are nice and big. Hotel is clean and staff are friendly. Location is about a 15-20 minute tram ride from the main station. Thought the breakfast was decent but could have been better.

Initial impressions not good - tatty flags outside and grubby masonry, but once inside a really friendly reception team and very stylish interior. Great room - well maintained with good standard of house keeping. Well kept garden and lovely period bar/restaurant. Very professional and helpful staff. Great food and bar service.
