Blue Aegean Hotel & Suites

First, the other reviews complaining about cockroaches – these are *not* cockroaches, they are actually cicadas! The rooms are on open air so open windows during the night might attract insects inside :) if anything it shows the hotel has some nice vegetation and garden around the pools and rooms. For the actual review, it's a great small family-run hotel. It strikes the perfect balance between folks looking for a full active all-inclusive experience and a relaxing and calm place. Because it is small, you can have peace of mind with the room and kids. You get a great value for money, with a great restaurant, friendly and welcoming staff, and a great localization for going for trips around Crete.

Lovely smaller hotel , with a decent sized swimming pool. The restaurant and food is lovely.. food repeats after a few days , but is always tasty.. staff all friendly and helpful. Short walk to a lovely little beach.. It's nice and quiet until northern families turn up, but that's not the hotels fault..

Staff was absolutely wonderful, polite & helpful. Food great, clean rooms, nice location. However the “night manager” completely ruined our experience and sadly the owner didn’t seem to care. We arrived at 2am, with a tired 7 year old & a 18 month old that hadn’t slept. He watched us struggle up the stairs not offering to help. Then when we arrived at the room I asked for the cot (I had re-ordered) and he laughed and just said “no cots” and walked out. Luckily I found the manager quickly whom found me a cot in seconds. But first impressions last!
