This hotel is truly an oasis within the heart of the city. The courtyard is a peaceful retreat, featuring beautifully manicured gardens that offer a serene atmosphere. The pool, though modest in size, is inviting and deep enough for a refreshing swim, while the beds provide an ideal place for restful sleep. The bathrooms are adorned with stunning mosaics, which add an elegant touch, and the intricate mosaic headboard in the room adds character and charm. The breakfast is delightful, with the homemade bread being an absolute standout—fresh and comforting, it’s the perfect way to start the day. The pool remains open late, offering a peaceful spot to unwind after a busy day. The hotel is in an excellent location, making it easy to explore the city. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, always making sure you feel welcomed and at ease. We also had the chance to do some laundry during our stay, and the pricing was very reasonable. A thoughtful welcome guide was provided, which added a personal touch to our visit. We also appreciated that there are no TVs in the rooms, allowing for a more peaceful, distraction-free environment to fully unwind.
Before making the trip to Nicaragua, I was skeptical about the location and just about everything. I exhausted reviews online, not once, but twice, and though what I read was mostly good, I still had my doubts. Then I decided to go for it, and I am so glad that I did. The Secret Garden Hotel is a wonderful, comfortable piece of heaven in the middle of Granada. Its location is perfect to everything you’d want or need in Granada. There’s even a grocery store just a 7 min walk from the hotel. Everything about the hotel and Granada was easy. I felt safe, even during the early night time hours. But more about the hotel. First, the employees are very kind and helpful. They answered all of my questions thoroughly and made me feel welcome. I did not go on any activities, but they will help with anything you may need or want. Second, I stayed in the apartment. It was spacious and clean. There’s purified water for drinking, so no worries there, and a small refrigerator in case you need to keep things cool. It was HOT AND HUMID in Granada, but the air conditioning in the apartment worked so well, I even turned it off at one point during the night (I only used it at night). Also something to note, there was no hot water like Americans might be used to; however, it wasn’t a problem. The cool water was refreshing from the high heat. Third, the breakfast each morning was delicious, and they served a lot. You definitely will not go hungry here. The hotel itself was stunning. Lush with plants and flowers, there were many places to sit and lounge during your time there. While other guests were staying at the hotel, I honestly felt like I was the only one there besides the occasional brief interactions walking about the hotel. The terrace was one of my favorite places to go at dawn to watch the sunset—unmatched views. Speaking of the terrace, the massage I received up there from Monica was outstanding. I’d definitely book one while you are here. The pool area was beautiful. While I did not swim, the water was clean and refreshing as I sat on the edge of the pool with my legs dangling in the water while reading a book. Really, everything about this place was wonderful. If you are like me and a bit skeptical, stop reading reviews and book this place! I know you won’t regret it once you get here. I would happily return.
Thank you to Paulina, Kenet, and everyone at Secret Garden (including Charlie the cat!) for a lovely stay. The hotel was able to arrange our taxis from San Jorge and also back to Managua and Kenet was an excellent driver. Our room was clean and comfortable and the hotel is really beautiful; you'd never know it from the street, but it's magical once you're inside. We had an incredible dinner at NM Culinary and the hotel is just a 5-minute walk away. Breakfast at Secret Garden was outstanding, and my husband had a wonderful massage at a great price as well. I wish we had stayed longer than one night!
