We arrived very late but we able to get in and settled very quickly. They were so helpful with giving directions to local places to buy needed supplies. The absolute best part of their service was that we informed the front desk that we would be checking out very early the next morning, and waiting for us at the front desk the next morning were 2 sack breakfasts for us to take since the kitchen was still closed.
The restaurant is nice, but the hotel is far from a "4 star boutique hotel". The rooms are OK, just not 4-star. Everything seems old and outdated, but I suppose it's not too bad for San José. The location is good, close to a shopping center and restaurants. It also seemed very safe. The room has a mini fridge. The swimming pool is more decorative than an actual usable pool. I was there four days and I never saw anyone in it. I stayed on the first floor and I'm not sure if there's an elevator. I never saw one.
The staff at the front desk is the best part of this hotel. Super helpful, nice and friendly. They are the reason this review isn't one star. I got woken up every night from the lobby and noise from rolling bags going down the stairs.
