Caléway Hotel

Hidden gem across the river from the main Porto town located within minutes walk of all the Port Lodges. A better side to stay than the very busy Porto side of the area. Though access to Porto is just 10minutes walk away either by the low level iron walk way or catch the Gondola to the upper level and cross via the tram train level. The hotel frontage blends into the local design so keep an eye out for the front door. Inside is a beautiful old style stone walled reception and hall way to the beautiful open area stairs to the rooms and access to the garden. Breakfast is up the old stone stairway to the breakfast room. Breakfast is continental and a small selection of hot foods. Beautiful views from the room out onto the gardens below. There is a small bar area that is not manned and operates an honesty process by completing a sheet with your details. The costs of drinks are very cheap so worth using for beer, wine, some spirits, soft drinks, ports and bottles of water. The rooms are very comfortable with the rear rooms overlooking the garden quiet area. Some rooms to the front overlooking the narrow one way road. Overall an excellent small boutique hotel. Definitely recommend.

This hotel is excellent. The staff were all lovely. Location was great, love that it was small, honor bar was great (especially during the Iberian peninsula power outage in April 2025). Walkable to everything, easy access to the train station and airport.

My favorite hotel in all my travels. Beautiful suite Y. Picturesque. Amazing. Best staff. Location etc. Really hard to explain the feel and quality unless you stay there.
