Cape Weligama

Our stay at Cape Weligama was truly memorable. The resort is set in one of the most stunning locations we’ve ever experienced – breathtaking views over the ocean, beautifully kept gardens, and an atmosphere of absolute peace and relaxation. The service throughout was exceptional, warm, and attentive, making us feel genuinely welcomed. The villas are spacious, elegant, and private, offering everything one could expect from a luxury escape. The infinity pool overlooking the ocean and the different lookout points around the property were simply spectacular. If we had to point out one area for improvement, it would be the dinner at the Atlas restaurant. While the setting is beautiful, the food did not quite live up to the standard of the rest of the resort – portions were small, flavors not particularly memorable, and the prices high for the experience. For now, I would recommend enjoying room service instead, which was excellent and, in our view, the best way to dine here until the Atlas restaurant raises its level. That said, everything else – the place, the views, the service, the rooms, and the sense of space – was outstanding. Cape Weligama is a remarkable place to unwind, and we would return without hesitation.

From breathtaking ocean views to exceptional service, everything here feels special. A perfect place to relax, unwind, and enjoy a memorable stay. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a top-class travel destination in Sri Lanka.

I’m surprised to see only a 4.7 total star rating but then the world is now filled with travellers with exacting standards. We travelled with our nine-month old and found everything to be wonderful and easy. The location speaks for itself, nestled in the hills, it has beautiful views and the most lush surrounds. The staff is incredibly helpful and warm. I made a small comment to them about food and very minor details but overall we thought everything including our beautiful, spacious and clean room was wonderful. And that almost private pool - heaven. Very peaceful, very familiar. Highly recommend and will definitely be back! Do beware, ACs not available outside the room and Sri Lanka is a pretty hot country. But that is the case everywhere and I’m sure this is more to do with the country than the hotel itself.
