Capital Plaza Hotel

You get to experience an old colonial mansion right on Plaza 25 de mayo. Very easy check-in. I got a shared room, which is basically a normal room with all the amenities, except that someone needs to cross through your room to access the one located upstairs (via a small stair). Very funky, actually. It didn't bother me for the price: there was nobody else, and I had the whole floor section to myself. I liked that it had fresh and hot water available to drink. The breakfast is a large buffet, and options include fresh loaf of bread, cheese, and plenty of fresh fruits.

Hot running water is not a staple of this hotel. The rooms are ok but there’s no heating and they tend to get cold. The building in general is quite pretty, it has a colonial inner patio that has a nice vibe. The meals at the hotel’s restaurant are very good!

This is a beautiful colonial hotel in just the right location. However, it is a bit dated and the facilities in each room are a TV and a fridge only. The staff are amazing, welcoming and helpful. There is no air-conditioning but surprisingly it wasn’t a problem even though it was hot. It’s clean and quiet. There is a pool It’s small, but clean. I didn’t use the pool unfortunately as it was full of splashing children all day. May I suggest some adult only hours so there can be peaceful swimming. Parking is off site 5-10 minutes walk. I can’t emphasise enough how helpful the staff were. We use google translate successfully as only 1 spoke English.
