What a wonderful hotel. Clean, modern, and with a service second to none. Arrived and were greeted with a Tamarind fruit juice (grown locally). The hotel is close enough to walk to the town square, but far enough to not be disturbed by the noise. The staff were excellent, the beds were so comfortable, and they made it clear that all items in the refrigerator and on the nearby table are free of charge. I will definitely be returning.

Everything's perfect; The comfort of a modern style wisely mixed with an ancient structure makes this place my absolute favorite. I am very demanding but I can say that we have been pampered all the time by a kind and attentive staff. Our room was quiet, large, with a big bathroom equipped with towels, hairdryer, extra bathrobes, as well as top quality creams, soaps and bubble baths. What is provided as drinking water in addition to the entire fridge is considered as a courtesy at no extra charge. The swimming pool is simply spectacular as is the whole garden available for sunbathing or enjoying a drink. The attached restaurant provides a valid Mediterranean alternative to the sometimes too unhealthy cuisine that can be encountered outside the structure. It is a true gourmet bistro with many specialties also suitable for a European guests.

I hate to give negative reviews but I paid a top price (~$100) and could not even take a hot shower. Turns out there’s just one tank type water heater for five upstairs units. At a $20 hostel it’s to be expected but not a place this nice. We were switched to a downstairs room that had hot water but other guests reported the same issue. A place like this needs the on demand type of water heater that never runs out. They are fairly common in Colombia too. On the positive side, the hotel is quite nice. Great finishes and details you’d expect. Friendly staff who are service oriented.
