Catalonia Royal La Romana Adults Only All Inclusive

I was in Bayahibe in February with my daughter. We had a great time and we really enjoyed the hotel. The personnel is very friendly and smiling, the food is fresh and good in all the restaurants, the room was big, modern and clean. We particularly enjoyed the beach and the dancing classes, which were so much fun. The all inclusive formula includes also free cocktails and drinks ( very good and refreshing) that are served directly to the beach bed which is a very nice. Every night there was music and dancing in different parts of the hotels, that we enjoyed very much. The hotel exceeded our expectations and we will go back for sure one day.

Mixed Service, Beautiful Place The hotel itself is beautiful. It's very clean, well maintained, and the beach is great. There are also small cars available to take you to the beach, which is a nice touch. Drinks were good, and aside from the Italian spot, the food was solid. Now for the service, it was a mixed bag. Some of the staff were amazing, especially Luis. He really made an effort and turned things around for us. Unfortunately, others made us feel unwelcome. As locals, we felt looked down on at times, which was disappointing. Service at the island snack bar was very slow and the staff there weren’t polite. The Italian restaurant was a disaster. We didn’t even finish the first course and just left. At the beach bar, one of the servers (fit black guy) actively ignored us, which was hard to miss. Same kind of attitude came from one of the women at the restaurant lobby. Overall, I’d say 70% of the staff made our experience great, but the other 30% left a bad taste. It’s a shame because the hotel has everything it needs to be excellent, but that kind of treatment shouldn’t happen to any guest.

Rayner at the adult Beach, Francisco, and Caesar were all great bartenders and gave great service!!! They deserve some recognition. Ester from housekeeping also did a fantastic job with our room!! Hostesses at the Beloved restaurant would always go out of their way to greet us made sure all was well. Beach was beautiful with clear blue water and zero seaweed. Crepe location on family side was a great find. Limited drink and alcohol selections. Entertainment at night needed work (although staff tried hard) Staff doesn’t try to stop the towel reserving game as each day arrival at beach by 8am presented almost all prime locations already reserved Other staff members (not all) seemed to shy away from providing any service or provided minimal help. The issues mentioned in prior reviews around restaurants being booked and not being able to go to all restaurants were still happening while we visited the resort. Overall we would choose to go elsewhere if we had to do things over again.
