Central Heritage Resort & Spa Darjeeling

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Central Hotel in Darjeeling, and it was a memorable experience worth sharing. Nestled in the heart of the city, the hotel offered not only a comfortable stay but also easy access to many popular tourist attractions like the Mall Road, Chowrasta. The room I stayed in was clean, spacious, and cozy, with a beautiful view of the surrounding hills. The bed was comfortable, and all basic amenities like hot water, room heater, and Wi-Fi were available. The interiors were tastefully done, combining traditional charm with modern convenience. The staff at Central Hotel were courteous, professional, and always ready to assist, they made sure the guests felt well taken care of. The in-house restaurant served a mix of Indian and local cuisine. Breakfast was included in the stay and offered a decent spread. One of the biggest advantages of this hotel is its location. It’s centrally situated, making it easy to walk to the nearby markets, eateries, and viewpoints. Despite being in the center, the environment was peaceful and quiet—perfect for a relaxing holiday. I would highly recommend Central Hotel, Darjeeling to anyone looking for a comfortable and centrally located place to stay. It offers great value for money, excellent service, and a warm, welcoming vibe that adds to the charm of visiting Darjeeling.

Stayed in this hotel in April,2025. Here is my take on different aspect of the hotel. Location - Full marks as it is located right next to the mall road. But just note the the hotel picture in the website is heavily edited. The actual front side of the hotel is nowhere similar to what is shown on the picture. Rooms - I stayed in heritage section. Rickety is the word that best describes rooms. The heritage rooms are very badly maintained with squeaky sound coming when you walk on the floor. You can hear similar sounds from above also. The bathroom had extreme foul smell coming from somewhere throughout my stay. Service - Average. Staff is responsive during the regular timings. I had to search and shout out in the hotel to find a staff to settle my bills at 6:30 AM in the morning. It took me good 10 mins to find a staff. Have taken pictures of the empty hotel lobby as an evidence. Food - Was good. No complains. Cleanliness - Rooms where clean, but outside including lobby was dirty with dust evident on the floor. My kids played on the floor for a couple of minutes and their jean got dirty with dust. Overall - Is highly overpriced for the experience it offers. The hotels charges as if if offers premium services, but offers services below par compared to even average hotels.

Extremely overpriced for the service provided. 1. Rude behaviour of receptionists 2.Extremely dirty and unhygienic rooms with stinking washroom. Rooms had damp and wet conditions and telephone was not working 3. Misleading information provided at the time of booking about car parking facility ,you might have to park your car 15 mins away from the hotel and have to pay for it which will then be refunded 4. Driver accomodation is pathetic, nothing provided before 8 pm. After 8 pm, mattress is placed in a dining hall and drivers are asked to stay with the room having no ventilation. Misleading information was provided at the time of booking about this also about driver dormitory 5. Finally, the worst part is that we were promised mountain view rooms. Only view that came was the asbestos view of the next building with no mountain view Overpriced for the service and rooms provided.Only positive is the location. Wouldn't recommend to anyone
