Chantillys on the Bay

Unfortunately, Chantillys on the Bay was badly damaged during the Port Vila mag 7,3 earthquake on December 17th 2024 and was torn down in early 2025. This building doesn't exist anymore.

Chantilly’s was a wonderful stay from the beautiful views of the bay to the convenient location of only a short 10 minute walk into the heart of Port Vila. While the rooms may be slightly underwhelming compared to online images, they were kept clean, cold and respectable, however where Chantilly’s really excels is their staff and hospitality, the receptionist that had helped us during our stay Silas, truly went above and beyond in every aspect, from making us feel welcome to organising bookings even while on his day off work. He is one of the nicest most caring people I have ever met and it truly feels like we made a friend for life. Overall I give this stay a 4/5 and would highly recommend Chantilly’s to anyone looking for a place to stay in Port Vila.

Yesterday, 31/7/24 we went to the Bistro for lunch. We were 4 of 16 seated. An hour later we were still waiting. Staff did not seem to be particularly interested in the length of the delay. Fish and chips was on the kids menu for VT1250. As the fish was basa (catfish) I asked to substitute better fish. I was charged full price for the basa (which was not served) plus an additional VT700 for the poulet fish, making an underwhelming kids meal cost VT1950 (NZD27.00). There was no lime juice available included in the lunch special price and no other options given. I used to dine there regularly but given the poor service, high cost and very average food I will not continue to do so.
