Chateau de Chine Hotel Hualien

Visited in November 2023: This hotel is super kid friendly. 10 of us came here for a family vacation, and the kids had a great time on the 3rd floor, "My Forest," which is spacy and full of toys to entertain the kids. Adults enjoyed other amenities in this hotel as well, such as the "Happy hour" which runs from 9:30 pm to 11 pm during our visit. Will recommend this hotel to families with young kids. Breakfast buffet is awesome, full of selections.

I wish I could say “you get what you paid for” but I can’t. Rates for basic rooms are pricey while you’ll be staying in a 70s styled room. The room is somewhat clean but renovations are seriously needed. Possibly black mold was found in the bathroom. Perhaps they want to save money on electricity by not using the AC but the indoor playroom for kids is really warm even in November. Happy hour is not impressive but it’s a good place to go for snacks and drinks. Location is great and the service is good.

Pay attention to free shuttle to and from train station. Limited capacity and schedule. 7 people maximum in a small van Several times a day only roughly two hours apart. Air condition not cool enough for this area of Taiw where high humility and temperature are norm. Yes. Family friendly hotel, lots of kids.
