Château l'Hospitalet Wine Resort

This nice place stands out by absolutely phenomenal service. People are genuinely kind and caring! It's clean, calm, nice pool and the minibar is included. Thank you, we have already started to recommend this place to our friends 🤗

We had a fantastic stay at Hospitalet. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable, and the service was absolutely perfect. Breakfast was excellent, most of the food were artisanal made. We were a bit disappointed that L’Art de Vivre, the Michelin-starred restaurant, was closed during our stay — but the beach restaurant more than made up for it. We ate extremely well there and enjoyed the friendly, attentive service. The beach club is excellent, with great service, though the music could be a touch quieter. The pool is pleasant but feels a bit secondary — with such a beautiful beach just steps away, we didn’t really use it. A special thought for the recent fire in the area — we hope everyone is safe. Overall, an excellent experience and we would gladly return.

We stayed at Chateau L'Hospitalet for a few days to celebrate my husband's 65th birthday. It is a beautiful property and we enjoyed the stay but I don't think I would return in August, if ever. There was a heat wave, which was certainly not the hotel's fault, but this isn't a really pleasant place to be during a heat wave and it's not convenient to many other places. We had booked a junior suite and the room was beautiful, but once we got inside, we noticed that the mini split air conditioning unit was making a very loud rattling noise. We called the front desk and they sent someone out to check but told us that all the units sounded like that. They offered that we could check another room, where there was central air conditioning, which was very quiet. It was a larger room and we were happy they allowed us to move. That started things off very well. Then that first afternoon, there were no lounge chairs by the pool. We asked an employee if it was possible to get more and they said they would check but never came back. The next day, we spent a day at the beach club, where the beach is beautiful and the chairs comfortable, but there is no "lunch" menu (with light offerings like salads or sandwiches, and it was difficult) to get cold drinks on the beach.) One reason I would never recommend visiting in August, however, is that the mid-range restaurant, Chez Paule, is closed for dinner, meaning you either need to go to the beach club - 10 minutes away by car or shuttle -- or to the high-end Michelin guide L'Art du Vivre. We were excited to go there, actually, to celebrate my husband's birthday, but we found it overpriced and underwhelming with very snooty service. I will write a separate review on that experience as it was the only time I've ever paid $500 to be corrected by a server on what to do with my cutlery.
