Great place to consider when staying in Amsterdam! The rooms were impeccable, but it’s the staff that truly makes this place special. We’ll definitely return! The on site self market is great!
Room is ok, but the breakfast menu is too boring for 3 days visit. The location is very close to bijlmer arena…. Amenities is standard, the soap, shampoo feels too cheap for marriott class. Gym is nice.
Worst hotel experience ever. Our stuff got stolen from inside the property itself, and we got no support from the hotel. My husband and I were staying at this hotel and were checking out on Sunday, Aug 3, 2025. I've stayed here 3 times before, and my husband is a Gold Elite member — but that clearly means nothing here. While checking out, I placed my bags briefly on a sofa near the reception. In seconds, someone who was already sitting there grabbed my bags (including all our IDs, cash, and cards) and walked out. We spotted the man and ran after him — but he got away in a car with an accomplice. What was the hotel staff doing? Absolutely NOTHING. No urgency, no help, no concern. There was no security guard at the hotel either. They only called the police when we forced them to and then continued working like nothing happened. No follow-up, no check-in with us, no apologies. It was beyond traumatic. Why was a random person allowed to loiter in the reception area without being questioned? Is this normal here? It honestly felt like someone inside may have even known the guy. This is a serious lapse in security, and the liability lies with the hotel. It’s extremely concerning — not just for guests, but for the safety of employees too. Shocking behavior for a property under the Marriott brand. No sense of responsibility or safety. Avoid this place if you care about your belongings or basic security. Update after hotel’s reply: It’s honestly a shame to receive such a passive-aggressive response when the issue was a clear security lapse on your premises. My bag was stolen from right inside your reception area — not a public space — while a stranger sat there unchecked. Blaming me for leaving it “unattended” is both dismissive and unacceptable. Your staff showed no urgency and only called the police after we insisted. That is not “full support.” This happened inside a Marriott-branded hotel, and I had expected better. Clearly there is a lack of customer support and human decency at this hotel.
