Great Staff & Location, But a Few Missed Details A very good stay overall, with some real highlights and a few areas that could be better. Pros: * Outstanding Service: The staff is the hotel's biggest asset. Late check-out was easy, and they were amazing with helping me retrieve a lost item. * Great Room: Spacious, quiet, with a comfy bed and a proper sofa. * Location: Super convenient for restaurants. Pro-tip: take the bus to Lalaport, it's easier than the MRT. * Nice Touch: The welcome oranges were delicious! Cons: * Amenities vs. Price: The hotel charges a premium price, but some amenities feel basic. The towels are thin, and the bathtub is small. * Needs a Refresh: The mini-bar is generic (some local snacks would be great!), the shower pressure is low, the TV is too small, and the Wi-Fi struggles with streaming. Bottom Line: You're paying for the fantastic service and location. The "hardware" (amenities, tech) needs an upgrade to match the price tag. A solid 4-star experience. Nice hotel with spacious King rooms. I stayed for four nights and really enjoyed my stay. The MRT station is right outside, making it very convenient to get around, and it's close to both NTU and Academia Sinica. Just hop on the MRT to explore the area. The bathroom was well-appointed, featuring a bath, shower, and large vanity. The bed was comfortable on the firmer side.. Breakfast was standard, with a limited selection compared to other five-star hotels. The dining area feels more like a large hall, not the most cosy or inviting atmosphere. There’s a McDonald’s and a Subway located just below the hotel, which is great for a quick bite. In addition, right outside the MRT station, there are several food courts offering local meals at very reasonable prices, definitely worth checking out for a more local dining experience.
Over the course of nearly two weeks of my stay at this hotel, I have consistently received exceptional service. However, today, I encountered a frustrating situation with a lady front desk supervisor, Ray. Despite having obtained a mask from the front desk the previous day, Ray denied me access to one today. I am partially disabled and rely on a mask for my safety. The increased presence of individuals in the restaurant and lobby today prompted me to request a mask from Ray. However, she informed me that they did not have any available and that I needed to purchase one downstairs myself. Since my legs are partially handicapped, it would be a hassle for me to go up and down. I inquired about the discrepancy, as I had received a mask from the front desk the previous day. However, she denied any record of my request. This incident raises concerns about potential double standards towards guests of Asian or foreign appearance. As I was returning to my top-floor room, I observed several foreign guests in the elevator who were not wearing masks and engaged in conversation. Given my weakened immune system, I am apprehensive about contracting an illness due to Ray’s unprofessional and unfriendly response. I am deeply disappointed by her lack of professionalism and friendliness. It is unclear how she is qualified to be a supervisor, as other staff members have provided significantly better service.
