DeLaSea Ha Long Hotel Modern Bayview Escape

This place is an absolute gem of a hotel. The staff are the best I have experienced in Vietnam, they are so so helpful, friendly and always smiling. From the first moment we walked in, we were greeted by the biggest smiles and the warmest of welcomes, and it was genuine, not put on. Breakfast everyday was absolutely spot on, eggs cooked fresh in front of you however you like them, great beef and chicken PHO that was delicious with all the trimmings you need, loads of fresh breads and fruits and juices the list goes on. But what stood out to us about breakfast is that it was all tasty, it didn’t just look good, it actually tasted good too. We were lucky enough to be served by Thuong, the restaurant manager. What a top guy he is. He Instantly connected with my son, playing with him and giving us a helping hand getting the food and drinks from the counters to the table. He also arranged the most fantastic Latte’s for us on the table every day so we did not have to get up from the table with my baby and carry coffee. He gave us recommendations on places to visit around Ha Long that we have not seen in any travel guides. We are very very grateful to Thuong and his team for looking after us the way they did every morning, it really did make this hotel such an amazing place to stay. We stayed in the junior suite in the 16th floor and the views are incredible. You can see out to the famous Ha Long Cliffs, you can see the beautiful city lit up in the evenings as well, yet it’s in a quiet little corner so there was no noise at all. Rooms are modern and spotlessly clean. Bed was very comfortable. Everything was perfect. I highly recommend staying here, and if you do, send our regards to Thuong and his team at breakfast 👍

We had a comfortable stay at DeLaSea Hotel. The rooms were exceptionally spacious, clean, and offered beautiful views—much larger than what we’ve seen at other premium hotels. The breakfast was good, though vegetarian options were limited. Thankfully, the staff was happy to prepare veg dishes on request. While the air conditioning in both rooms wasn’t working properly, the hotel did provide fans, which helped. However, in a warm country like Vietnam, proper AC—especially in the washrooms, which also lacked ventilation—is essential. Communication was a bit challenging as many staff didn’t speak English, but Alice (manager) and Hoa at the concierge desk were extremely helpful. Hoa was particularly accommodating when it came to storing my mother’s insulin and ice packs. We also appreciate the hotel’s flexibility—due to a flight change, we had to leave a day early, and Alice kindly waived the charge for the unused night. Overall, a great stay with a few areas for improvement.

View was amazing from our room. Lovely room, beautiful pool. Unfortunately the whole place just lacked personality. The area is full of hotels but not many restaurants or local places to eat. The beach bars are just full of locals taking photos of each other dressed up. No one really seemed to be having a good time. We had room service one evening and it was edible but massively overpriced for what it was. Dry and cold! Best thing about the place was the view from the room and the pool....but the pool restaurant was closed the whole time we were there and there were no staff about to make sure there were clean towels. If they got some staff that really cared about the guests outside of reception and created more of an atmosphere, it could be lovely.
