I had a wonderful stay at the Delta Edmonton. Check in was extremely friendly and helpful making sure I knew how to park, gain access after hours, find restaurants (distract 102 on 3rd floor), or access the gym. Would happily stay here again next time I’m in Edmonton.
I do not want this review to reflect on the staff, who were AMAZING!!! Ritz Carlton level Serive. I would have giving this hotel 5 stars, but for the location. The location was gross!!! Homeless EVERYWHERE! Doing drugs in the open on the street, right in front of the hotel. This location may be nice for hockey games, but if you are not coming for that DO NOT STAY HERE. This is so sad because once in the doors of the hotel it was awesome. Super super clean, smells amazing. The rooms are HUGE!! The restaurant was excellent. One of the best taste food from a hotel restaurant I’ve had. The service in the restaurant was exceptional. The restaurant had pool, shuffleboard and foosball, which was great to keep my 8 year old entertained while we waited for our food. It just is really sad the city doesn’t do something about all the people doing drugs, in the open, on the streets.
If I can give less than 1 star, I would. Came in and checked in, went up to my room and found it was already occupied. Came down to tell the staff, then they made us sit in the lobby while claiming we already checked in hours ago. Huh? What? They had to go up to verify that yeah, the key to the room they just gave me was occupied. Couldn't check in when we were exhausted at 11. They could at this point, just give us a new room, but nope. Just sat us in the lobby. I am literally writing this from the hotel lobby at 12:44 AM, with no room. They verified my booking number, my ID, my credit card, but still no room. If they want to investigate, fine, but why can't we get a room. Update: at approximately 1 am, after a painful 75 minutes of time wasting check in, I was placed at what appeared to be a downgraded handicapped person room. Was compensated 2 bottles of water and tea. Wow.
