We stayed here for three nights instead of Milford sound. Great location and the town Te Anau was great, has everything you need. We got a room with an AC which included a breakfast buffet. The buffet was great, excellent service and food options. The room was clean but the walls are a bit thin so we could hear everything. With the AC on it did drown out a bit of it.
Our room was excellent: spacious, king bed, nice large couch plus chair; night light in the bathroom; super comfortable quilt / comforter; very good pillows. Areas for improvement: (1) a significant reorientation of the fitness centre to add weights, a weight bench of some sort, floor / yoga mats; towels; and maybe get that lone treadmill repaired sooner than later. An expert could help the hotel optimize the available space. (2) Add brewed decaf coffee to the breakfast buffet (the instant decaf coffee is coffee in name only).
Honestly was expecting more for what is rated as 4 stars on google. Room was fine for the most part, but didn’t even come with any plates or utensils which was incredibly annoying. Didn’t help the fridge malfunctioned and water went all throughout it. Wifi was faulty and slow through my stay which made it hard to work or relax. And that bloody loud bathroom fan that stays on for 10 minutes after the light was off got incredibly annoying. Honestly really disappointed and wouldn’t recommend.
