I've been in Duzdag Hotel for 18 days in April-May 2023. The main purpose of visiting Duzdag Hotel is a salt cave treatment (as I know it is the only effective treatment available for people with asthma and other respiratory diseases). The hotel is a 5-10 minute drive from the salt cave and provides daily round-trip transportation for visitors. The treatment consists of visitors spending the night in the salt cave, from about 10.30 pm to 7.30 am. The cost of treatment is included in the price of the hotel. Also, the price of the hotel includes 3 meals a day, a buffet. A variety of dishes and salads are offered every day. Also on the territory of the hotel there are swimming pools, a sauna, water slides, but none of this worked during my visit, but the management promised to put it into operation soon. I strongly recommend that all asthma sufferers try the Duzdag hotel accommodation and treatment in the salt cave for a couple of weeks. It really helps!

Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Price I had high expectations for Hotel Duzdag based on the photos and descriptions on their website, but unfortunately, my experience fell far below what was promised. To begin with, the room was nothing like what was advertised. The “Queen bed” turned out to be a stack of worn-out mattresses that left me with back pain and made it nearly impossible to sleep. The pillows were flat, old, and provided no support. Despite what the website claimed, there was no Wi-Fi in the room, which made it difficult to stay connected or get any work done. The SPA experience was equally frustrating. I was asked to wait over three hours for a massage that never happened. No proper communication, no apology—just wasted time. The area around the pool was dirty and neglected, and the sauna was completely dark, making it unusable and frankly unsafe. Other parts of the hotel didn’t meet even basic standards: the stairways were untidy, and the general upkeep of the place was poor. It felt more like a forgotten facility than a functioning wellness hotel. To be fair, the staff were always polite and tried to be helpful. Unfortunately, management seemed indifferent to guest concerns. I raised all of these issues after the first night, but nothing was done. I had booked and paid for two nights, but I checked out early because I simply couldn’t stay any longer. Suggestions for improvement: • Update the website to reflect the true condition of the rooms and facilities. • Replace the beds, mattresses, and pillows with quality, supportive options. • Ensure all promised amenities (like in-room Wi-Fi) are functional. • Improve communication and service at the SPA. • Clean and maintain public areas regularly. • Train management to respond seriously and promptly to guest feedback. I rarely write negative reviews, but this experience left me feeling scammed. I hope the hotel takes action to improve, as it has potential but is currently far from what it claims to be.

Bring your own toilet paper, toothpaste and other things expected from a 5 star hotel. Oh and don't count on getting water. Ask the maids nicely to please clean your room and be be ready to get yelled at in Turkish. English is not spoken. Do yourself a favor and head to hotel Tabriz downtown instead. Rooms are not despicable but there is nothing 5 star here.
