I came to Budapest for a vacation with my daughter, before we arrived we booked another hotel when we arrived to check in we were very disappointed with it. We looked for another hotel and arrived at Eurostars Danube Budapest The hotel exceeded all our expectations. It is located in a central location, it smells good, the rooms are clean and spacious. Above all the hotel staff went above and beyond for us My daughter had a birthday and Claudia and the other receptionist whose name I don't know decorated the room with balloons that I bought in advance and they also gave her a cake and chocolates. During our stay in Budapest, Iran attacked the State of Israel, so we could not return to Israel, and they showed empathy and assured us that we could stay at the hotel as long as we needed. Highly recommend the hotel.
The receptionists were very understandable and friendly. The rooms were nice but the main problem was with the air conditioning. If wanted it to be turned on we had to call the reception desk and tell them that we want it on. The pad for the AC didn't work so we couldn't change the temperature. When it's on you are either freezing and when it's off it's hot. We were able to turn it off at the end of our stay. The location of the hotel is perfect. It gives access to a lot of sights and restaurants, clothing stores. The rooms were very clean and organized.
Absolutely the Worst Hotel I’ve Ever Stayed In – Do NOT Be Fooled by the Location! Let me save you from making a huge mistake: do NOT stay at Eurostars Danube Budapest. It is, hands down, the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had — and I’ve stayed in plenty. Let’s start with the absurdity of the air conditioning situation. You cannot control the AC from your own room. You read that right. If you want to turn it on, off, or adjust the temperature, you have to call the reception like it’s 1995 — and that’s if they even bother to pick up. Half the time, they decline the calls! Unbelievable. The AC has two modes: you’re either freezing to the bone or sweating buckets. There is no in-between, and no, the staff couldn’t care less. Now here’s the worst part: my mom — who is well past her twenties — got into the shower and the bathroom door suddenly fell off and came crashing down on her. It was terrifying and absolutely dangerous. Her safety was seriously at risk. And what did the hotel staff do? They just pushed the door back in place and acted like nothing happened. No concern, no apology, no proper fix. It was shocking. Completely unacceptable behavior, and honestly, a lawsuit waiting to happen. Now let’s talk about the rooms — tiny, cramped, and far from the “modern comfort” advertised. If you’re bringing more than a suitcase and a bad mood, good luck finding space for either. Oh, and the surrounding area? While yes, the location is technically central, it’s also surrounded by groups of homeless people openly drinking and doing who-knows-what all day. It’s sad, uncomfortable, and makes coming and going from the hotel feel sketchy and unsafe. Yes, the location is convenient — but at what cost? Honestly, I’d rather spend triple on Ubers and stay in a decent hotel further away than go through this nightmare again.
