Sopron is a relaxing holiday that my wife and I often go to. Fagus hotel is generally a good option but there are areas that can be improved. First of all I have to say that Fagus is definitely the best option around. The hotels around it are very bad. (yes I have stayed in all of them.) The rooms are nice, spacious and clean. The food buffet is mostly good. Especially on Friday and Saturday evenings. The products are fresh and delicious. There are also many options. I think the spa areas are not very good. There are people inside who drink alcohol and talk loudly. There are people who leave their towels in the small area below all day. The hotel management should intervene in such situations. The pool, which should be warm, is not warm at all. Instead of using the children's pool, the children dive in the adult pool and no one does anything about it. We really experienced a lot of discomfort in the spa area. The worst of all experiences were some of the staff at the reception. Although there was no one in front of us to check in, the receptionist made us wait for 5 minutes. He was only busy with other things there and did not look at us. Even if he had something else to do, he should have asked for some time. He was quite rude.
Rooms are clean and cozy. In general everything looks very nice and the service is great. But there are also some downsites: -Internet in your room is most of the time really slow -When you have a shower, its tricky to not set up your bathroom underwater -The Window is not sealed really good
We’ve stayed at the hotel for 4 nights mostly to go for hiking or cycling to Austria. The food were nice and there is a small wellness department where you can relax. The problem was with the room itself. The air condition was not working properly, when you set the thermostat to any set, the AC did not take any action on it. Therefore the room did not cool down for a reasonable tempratere at the evening. The other problem was with the TV, it constantly turned off on a random period of time. I know it’s not a big deal, but after a full day activity it would be nice to watch a movie without interruption. Also it’s the 21st century it should be a streaming capable smart tv not just satellite😊. Also I don’t understand the parking fee which is €2,5 for a day. Why not they build in the price for hotel guests? It’s ridiculous. Otherwise the hotel is in a nice environment where you can relax. If they are going to fix these small annoying things the hotel would be a nice choice.
