Went here for the afternoon tea. It was very lovely. Especially Jeanette was exceptional. The food was super tasty and very value for money. I was recommended a tea and alcoholic drink. And both were delicious. I am not big on tea but could drink #17 again. Would recommend if in Ottawa and unsure where to go for afternoon tea. Also the fact you can do it solo without it being a hassle or double price was really nice!

The hotel enjoys a fantastic location, but charging guests $60 for parking feels like daylight robbery. The place is cozy, yet clearly in need of some renovation and fresh updates. The staff are kind and helpful, always ready to assist. There’s a pool and a fitness center — both nice additions. If you decide to stay here, make sure to book a room with a park view — it’s absolutely worth it. A good choice for a short stay of 2–3 days.

Beautiful hotel, no doubt — but I probably wouldn’t stay here again. While I get that the rooms are meant to have a rustic, old-world charm, the quality just wasn’t there. The bathrooms were really small, the shower coating was peeling, and there were noticeable cleanliness issues — dust on the towels, fruit flies in the bathroom, and dust on surfaces like windowsills and desks. The blinds in our room also didn’t work properly. We flagged these issues to the front desk, and the staff was kind enough to move us to a larger room. Unfortunately, many of the same problems were still there. There also seemed to be some miscommunication between the front desk and housekeeping. We were told we’d have a view of the fireworks at front, but someone from maintenance later told us that wasn’t the case. When we were upgraded, we were promised one king bed and a double sofa bed, but what actually arrived was a single sofa bed — housekeeping said they don’t offer double sofa beds. So, we had to make do as a family. I do appreciate the staff’s effort in trying to accommodate us — they were helpful and polite. But overall, the hygiene just didn’t meet the standard I expected from Fairmont. So for that reason, I likely wouldn’t stay there again.
