Filao Beach by Sansi

Filao Hotel is a hidden gem if you’re looking for peace, comfort, and natural beauty. The thoughtful design, kind staff, clean rooms, and engaging cultural touches made my stay truly enjoyable. I would absolutely return and recommend it to anyone looking to experience Zanzibar beyond the usual touristy spots.

I can't say a single bad word about the friendly staff! I have traveled a lot and have a lot of experience but what I really appreciate here is that the cleaning girls come by twice a day. (Curtains open & closed just like the mosquitoes) They bring fresh flowers almost daily which is such a nice extra. The room is tiptop very clean and no strange things to see as we have often seen here in Zanzibar. If you are looking for peace and quiet I would definitely recommend this place the beach is not the most beautiful the island has to offer but you have to be fair I think. You can see that they want to distinguish themselves from the big competition on the island by giving personal service the smart workers remember everything so they know exactly what you like to drink and eat and take this into account. If I may give 1 minus point that does not outweigh all the plus points it is that it is a shame that it is predominantly French which we as Afrikaners are not aware of. A bit more variety or perhaps an English language quiz or meet & greet to get to know other guests from all over the world would also be nice.

Super cosy family business. Friendly staff makes you feel special (we even had a surprise romantic dinner served!). Internet connection patchy though, but this applies to the whole island. Many thanks :)
