On the picture, one can see a medieval castle and imagines that’s where the hotel is. No. The hotel is a few hundred meters away, a single storey construction. From outside, it looks like a cluster of chalets. Good free parking. It’s a shame that pets aren’t allowed: the area is all nature around.

Hotel was alright, just what you would expect. Restaurant was bad, but maybe also what you would expect.. The look of the restaurant itself was nice though. Initially we asked at the reception if there were vegan options and the reply was that the cooks are very good and will make sure there are good options. When we wanted to order, almost all vegetarian and vegan options were not in stock (anymore). I ordered the burrata dish as a starter and it should come with a bruschetta but I only got some lettuce with burrata. When I asked for the bruschetta part, I received half a casino toast that was very briefly toasted with a dot of pesto and half a cherry tomato. It was hard not to laugh about it. Definitely not worth the prices they ask for it. Once again disappointed by hotel food.

Hotel is OK (nothing more than ok, although prices are for 5 star hotels). Not surprising for a Fletcher, as there is always somethig to disappoint you. Restaurant experience was frustrating, upsetting and simply one to (not) forget. Arrived with my wife at 18:50 and no one came to greet us at the door for a few minutes. Seeing a whole lot of tables free and with no reservation signs, we sat down at one. The waiter came straight away asking what was our name and that we were not in the reservation list so he had to check if it was ok to dine there. Ok, first struggle overcame. All tables had a mussles sign (typical delicious dish from the Dutch coast) and we ordered it. Waiter told us it was sold out. Fine, but then take the signs away! We ended up ordering a schnitzel and a plate of seabass and gnocchi. The schnitzel (although priced like a world class authentic schnitzel) was a half a sized dry scalope with some fries and coleslaw. The seabass came on top of a small amount of (under cooked) potatoes. Waiter dropped the dish for my wife and noticing her confusion of 'Where are the gnocchi?', he walks away and pretends to be busy somewhere else. Another waiter came and said he was going to check at the kitchen only to come back saying non-chalantly that that was right, no gnocchi. Well, but that is not what we ordered, so I stated that we wouldn't pay for the whole price of the dish as potatoes are not the same as gnocchi. The waiter offered drinks to compensate which was accepted so my wife ordered a glass of wine and I ordered a large beer. When dinner was done, the first waiter came back (the one that dropped the dish and walked away) asking if all was satisfactory and my wife said 'No, my dish was supposed to have gnocchi and not potatoes' To our astonishment he replied saying that gnocchi and potatoes were the same (WHAAAAT???) and that we should be happy that we got compensated with a drink. I said 'no, it was not compensated' and he while walking away said 'well, that's your opinion'. You got that damn right, I am the customer. At the end, the bill came charging for the beer I ordered as the compensation to which the waiter replied 'No, only the wine was offered for compensation'. Period. Bad service, bad food = bad management
