I had an excellent stay at Ghoha Hills. The staff went above and beyond with my accommodations request. The lodge is beautiful and all cabins have great views of the savuti plains. Food, service, and guides were top notch. I highly recommend staying here on your safari.
Ghoha Hills has such an amazing location, beautifully perched on a red clay hill overlooking the surrounding plains. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and had a phenomenal view of a water hole which was perfect for sunsets and animal watching. The food was the best out of all of the camps we visited (chef Hope did such an amazing job). This choir was also our favorite out of the camps- their singing brought me to tears. Allen, our guide, was so warm, educational, and had such an enthusiasm for wildlife. He made our stay above and beyond special, and we are so grateful to have gotten to know him. The magic of Ghoha Hills is due not only to the natural beauty, but to the staff who deeply touched our hearts. There were many tears shed when the time came to leave. I hope to be able to return to this magical place again!
Very poor service. Would not recommend. 1) We booked a 2-room family suite and by arriving at the lodge they told us that family suite is booked by other people so what they suggest is put 2 separate beds in one room. Complimentary they would give massage for 1 (?!) person. Not even a word about giving a second cottage, which were all empty by that time. The check-in humiliation will not end on that. While having a lunch, not finished our drinks, waiter told us to go to manager now, because “manager is waiting for you”. Why manager couldn’t come to table to explain all at the table?? 2) Be aware that they don’t have any communication with staff - not WhatsApp groups (though there is WiFi), not even walkie-talkie. So expect to go to reception every time you need something (like water which they haven’t provided in our room). 3) Food is eatable but surely not what you expect. All in all spot and lodge itself is nice but service is definitely not what you expect for that money.
