Goldmoor Inn

I asked my hotel in Galena to suggest the nicest restaurant (defined by great food, scenic view and ambience) nearby for a special dinner. Hands down my hotel said this was the place. And it did not disappoint. It was a beautiful 20 minute ride out of Galena and it was amazing from the moment we drove up to the hotel. The food was absolutely out of this world. And I would even call it a work of art. The combination of taste in each dish was exquisite and the.presentation could have been on an art canvas. The chef is out of Chicago and brings a wonderful dining experience to a very quaint hotel. The service was also over the top and very personal, including a visit from the owner to our table. If you go for dinner, be sure to book around sunset because the view is spectacular over the Mississippi river from the restaurant.

We came to Goldmoor for a birthday dinner, so we didn’t stay. That will change next time. Its remote setting is amazing, providing beautiful panoramic views wherever you look. The wait staff was prompt and pleasant, and the owner was welcoming and conversational. We can’t wait to come back and stay.

This is our second time staying here. The Rooms: 10/10 amazing! The rooms are beautiful and well decorated. Staff: The staff is very welcoming and friendly. Always checking in to make sure we have everything we need. Food: Breakfast in bed was delicious!!! Overall: A beautiful place definitely worth staying and eating at the restaurant as well. Looking forward to going once a year!
