Goldvitel Hotel Surabaya

I Like the way they handle the complaint. First impression was not really good. Expecting 4 star room after long delayed flight, the room was okay but unpleasant odor came out. Not sure whether it came from the bathroom or humid walls. We asked to change the room, but they only sent room boy to sprayed the bath room which made things worst. Then after few exchange words, finally we got new room, much better one. And it gave us better sleep. In the second night, the hotel offered an upgrade to more clean and spacious room, even better than the second we had. Thank you! We really appreciated the sincere apology, and their unmatched effort to made us more comfortable. I suggest the hotel to conduct thoroughly inspection to whole room to find the solution for the sanitation problem above. Oh and one more thing, I also raise hat to the room boy who returned my cash which accidentally left when we moved to the second room at the first night. Honesty is the best policy!

Stayed there for 1 night in between our 7 days road trip to East Java from Bali. We arrived there in the evening, they provided valet parking, the staff were nice. They have a nice roof top restaurant with great views. The food tasted great and the price was affordable. The room is standard and clean. The breakfast was also good.

Unfortunately, this hotel is simply unstayable due to its location and probably the quality of the soundproofing of the building. I've never stayed at such a noisy hotel in Surabaya or Jakarta as this. I got almost no sleep thanks to the relentlessly loud motorcycles constantly revving their engines on the street below. The single person room is quite small and a bit smelly but otherwise clean. However, a ton of light peeks through the curtains even when they're completely closed. The only saving grace is the bed, which is surprisingly high quality. However, a nice bed doesn't really matter when you can't sleep for more than 30 minutes at a time due to the noise. Unless you're a really heavy sleeper, avoid this hotel. You will not get a good night's sleep.
