Amazing resort: location is simply lovely. The staff is friendly, professional and super caring to all guests needs and expectations Superlative selection of food, every single day of the week. Bluserena for good !!!
The stay was pleasant and I would say the following: Pros -restaurant staff are amazing! They made fresh food for us at the buffet if asked as we were vegetarian. -beach is nice and good general facilities - hotel offer good guided tour to Alberobello Cons -unless it’s meal time, it is very hard to fill up a water bottle (one day it was very hot and I was playing Tennis and could only get one cup of water at a time). Would be nice if there was somewhere to fill up water easily. -main pool is extremely crowded, “Olympic pool” does not have a great vibe and is mostly useful if you would like to swim lengths -entertainment for adults (singing) starts at 11pm, which feels a little late Other comments -this is a VERY child focused hotel (0-13 years). I would not really recommend unless you have children. -not many English speaker
Beautiful Hotel with Potential, but Some Disappointments We recently stayed at Blue Serena Hotel in Puglia, and while the setting and facilities are lovely, a few issues prevented us from fully enjoying our holiday. The hotel itself is beautiful, with all the main facilities—the beach, pool, and central building—within close walking distance. The cleanliness was excellent, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The entertainment team was a standout, offering well-organized, energetic activities that we truly enjoyed. I would give the entertainment a solid 9 out of 10. However, there were a few significant drawbacks. The most frustrating was the sheer number of flies in the restaurant and around the pool. It made it very difficult to relax or enjoy a meal, especially when flies were sitting directly on the buffet food. This really impacted the overall dining experience. Another issue was the cost of drinks. While wine and water were included at no extra charge, other drinks came at a premium. For example, a small cup of Fanta Orange or Coca-Cola on tap costs €3, or a tin costs €3.50—which is more expensive than the Autogrill. These additional costs added up quickly and felt unreasonable for an all-inclusive-style resort. Our room was also disappointing. It had a view directly overlooking a garbage area, and there was visible water damage on the walls that had not been addressed. The result was not what we expected, considering the otherwise high standard of the hotel's public spaces. We stayed during the week of 14 June 2025. Unfortunately, our experience was significantly affected by a viral outbreak of vomiting and diarrhea that spread through the hotel—both my husband and I were affected. While he recovered after a day, I was confined to our room for three full days, resulting in the loss of nearly half our holiday. We were not the only ones impacted; many other guests experienced the same symptoms. Despite this, the hotel made no effort to inform or warn guests about the outbreak—even though many of the guests were over the age of 60 and potentially more vulnerable. This lack of communication and precaution was disappointing and certainly detracted from what should have been a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Overall, Blue Serena Hotel has strong potential with its friendly service, excellent cleanliness, and convenient layout. However, the fly issue and extra charges for basic soft drinks significantly detract from the overall experience. With some improvements, this could be a truly great holiday destination. Final Score: 5/10
