Stayed at this hotel for three nights with my family of four. The bathroom shower was absolutely covered in mold. Floor, wall, and ceiling. We were put in the back room and were made to climb a set of very narrow stairs. I worried for my elderly parent’s safety each time we had to use them. When I asked the staff for more coffee pods, they were very rude and tried to add additional charges to our account for the coffee. The rooms turn out service didn’t come to our room until after 5pm daily and I never felt safe leaving any belongings in the room/safe. Great location. Can’t say the same for the rooms or the staff unfortunately. Book carefully.

Review / Sharing experience Theft from In-Room Safe at Grand Canal Boutique Hotel, Amsterdam. Recently, we stayed at Grand Canal Boutique Hotel in Amsterdam and encountered a serious issue regarding the security of valuables inside the room. • Valuables went missing from the in-room safe, which remained locked with no visible signs of forced entry. • Upon reporting the incident to hotel staff, there was no sense of urgency or concern, and no effort was made to assist, apart from stating that they would inform the housekeeping supervisor. However, no updates or follow-ups were provided. • The hotel refused to review CCTV footage, stating that they would only act upon a formal police request. However, although we filed a police report following the proper procedure, and despite the police being friendly, they were unable to dispatch an investigation team promptly, and so far, there has been no contact to update us on any progress. • Similar incidents have been mentioned in past Google reviews, yet there appear to be no additional security measures in place to prevent such occurrences. This hotel has 24/7 front desk staff, CCTV inside and outside the premises, and a keycard access system for entry. However, incidents like this have occurred both in the past and present, raising concerns about guest safety and how the hotel handles such situations. Advice for Future Guests If you are considering staying at this hotel, take extra precautions with your valuables and review past guest experiences. When we pointed out previous reviews mentioning similar incidents, the hotel’s response was simply: “You should have read the reviews before you booked.” When we expressed concerns about safety, the response was: “You can leave.” This experience highlights the importance of awareness and vigilance when choosing accommodations. We hope this review provides valuable insight for future guests and encourages the hotel to take proactive steps to improve security.

Absolutely Disgusting — Do Not Stay Here!!!! This was by far the most disgusting hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The room was filthy. I checked out the very next day after securing another hotel. I notified management, and they were completely dismissive—acting like the issues were somehow minor or fixable. There was white crust on the fabric bedframe (read between the lines), hair all over the bathroom that they claimed had just been cleaned, and spiderwebs in the light fixtures. It was clear no real cleaning had been done. Avoid this place at all costs.
