Grand City Hotel

In taichung for work for a couple of day. This is really a great hotel. It's considered a 4 star hotel. The rooms are ok but the service here is amazing. The hotel employees are all extremely warm and friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome and readily help you out with any request you may have. The bed and pillow is extremely comfortable. The breakfast is pretty asian so if youre expecting a western breakfast youre not going to get it here. The gym is small they only have a few dumbells up to a pair of 10kgs. Two treadmills, 2 bike things, and an elliptical. The teppenyaki restaurant is very good at this hotel. As is the cantonese restaurant in house. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Rooms are not well lit. There are rooms that has no internet connectivity. Few breakfast choices and they serve the same dishes almost everyday.

Non welcoming, poor service without a smile. No ice because apparently they’re not a restaurant. 42”tv 720p with blurry resolution. Kbro cable box with nothing on. Can’t use hdmi or usb to compliment this joke. Old room that wasn’t clean thoroughly 2 with thin sandpaper towels. No shampoo. 2 small warm bottles or water and nothing else. Only positive is the view of the train station if requested. 3k for 1 night. 1999 should the max. Skip.
