I had an amazing stay at the Grand Hotel Kalamata! The quality of the hotel is top-notch, with sleek, modern decor that makes you feel right at home. The location is unbeatable—right next to the beautiful Kalamata Marina, perfect for morning strolls or evening drinks by the water. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, with a great variety and some of the best coffee I had in Greece. But what truly made this hotel stand out was the people. The front desk staff were beyond exceptional—kind, funny, and genuinely welcoming. They made every interaction a pleasure and really elevated the entire experience. Highly recommended—I’ll absolutely be back!
A top-notch, 5 star superb hotel, with helpful staff. A wonderful base for exploration of the town or down the coast. The bistro food and drinks here are also wonderful, and one can relax in the lobby or outside in the breeze of the afternoon under the shade. An experienc we will definitely repeat. Our only minor feedback is our hot water was a little on the tepid side.
We appreciate the gesture of a complimentary upgrade from the hotel; however, the upgraded room ended up being a downgrade in terms of comfort. While labeled as a “Deluxe Sea View” room, it was noticeably smaller than our previous room, and the sea view itself was underwhelming. Being situated at the front of the hotel also meant it was significantly noisier, which disrupted the overall experience. Unfortunately, the service — particularly at breakfast — was very disappointing. We waited over 30 minutes for our food with no explanation or apology. When it finally arrived, it was lackluster at best. We also felt that the restaurant staff showed little respect or attentiveness to us, which left us feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. It’s difficult to say whether this was due to bias or indifference, but it was disheartening. In hindsight, we would have preferred to stay another night at Costa Navarino, especially after realizing how manageable the drive to the airport is from there. Overall, our stay at Grand Kalamata Hotel fell short of expectations, and we would likely not return. P/s the bed was comfortable - the only saving grace
