Before I booked I saw lots of reviews that were not encouraging, however I based my choice on the photos, which looked very nice. An I am so glad I did!!! When u get to the property you will be checked in the hotel reception where the stuff are super nice and helpful, there only weekends was the command of English, however they try their best and I had no issues. From there I was shown the parking and to my surprise this is one of the few hotels with underground secure parking. I was taking after that in the golf cart to my room, which is located in the main villa compound, which is an amazing place with beautiful road where no cars or bikes allowed apart from the hotel golf cart, it is good to note that the drivers had to follow the path at all time and they did not take shortcut to the rooms. The rooms are all wood and you will feel that you are staying in a forest, real Cambodia. The rooms were huge and super nice with an excellent view to the garden and swimming pool. He swimming pool had a bar in its centre, just make you feel that you want to have more drinks. I tried the restaurant over there Nd I would give the restaurant another 5 stars for the 5 star service and the fine dining ( I recommend the salmon and jumbo shrimp dish with house wine). The paved roads between the villas are good for running or a good walk with fresh air and simply nice view. I loved this place and I will definitely go back there and I highly recommend it. Well done for the management and staff. See attached photos
I attended a conference here, and had an excellent lunch. The dining and pool areas are modern and very well set out.
I and my family recently stayed at Sokhalay Angkor Villa Resort & Spa in Siem Reap, Cambodia. The good news is that since it was low season, the resort was pretty empty, so it felt very peaceful and private. The staff were also really friendly and helpful, especially at the front desk. The villas are quite large and situated in a nice green area right next to the big swimming pool. The pool itself is clean and well-maintained. Breakfast was decent, with some local fruits, breads, eggs and a few hot dishes. However, the facilities are quite dated and worn in many areas. It seems like some of the amenities and equipment are not being used or properly maintained. The number of staff is also limited, though the ones working are very kind and attentive. The bathroom in my villa was a bit old and shabby too. So while the overall stay was pleasant, the resort could really use some renovations and upgrades, especially in the low season when occupancy is lower. With some TLC, this place could be amazing. I'd recommend Sokhalay Angkor Villa if you're looking for a relaxing, private getaway with friendly service. But be prepared for some aging facilities and limited staff. Hopefully they'll invest in some upgrades soon to bring the resort up to its full potential.
